Terms of Service

Last updated: April 28, 2026

These terms govern your purchase of a hand-painted glass piece from Rootar Studio. Placing an order means you agree to them.

1. What you’re ordering

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted custom commission by Carla Beaino in Beirut. Because each piece is made by hand, small variations in color, line, and form are expected and are part of the character of the work.

2. Lead time

Standard turnaround is 2–4 weeks from the date your design brief is approved. Express shipping reduces transit time but does not change painting time. We’ll notify you of any unusual delays.

3. Pricing and payment

  • Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and shown on the order page.
  • Payment is collected in full at order time via Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
  • Applicable Canadian sales tax, where required, is added at checkout.

4. Design process and revisions

After payment, Carla will email you to confirm the design. Each tier includes the revisions described on its product page (for example, the Masterpiece tier includes two design iterations with the artist). Additional revisions beyond the included number are quoted separately.

5. Shipping

  • We currently ship to addresses in Canada only.
  • Pieces are carefully packaged and insured against transit breakage.
  • Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Because every piece is a custom commission, our refund policy is:

  • Within 24 hours of order: full refund, no questions asked.
  • Before painting begins: full refund minus a 10% design-time fee.
  • Once painting has begun: non-refundable. The piece will be completed and shipped as agreed.
  • Damaged in transit: if your piece arrives broken, email us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we will replace the piece or refund you in full.

7. Intellectual property

You own the physical piece you purchase. Carla retains the copyright in the artwork itself, including the right to photograph and display the piece in her portfolio and on this site. If you’d prefer your commission not be photographed publicly, tell us before painting begins.

8. Reference images you upload

By uploading reference images, you confirm you have the right to share them with us for the purpose of inspiring your commission. You grant Carla the right to use them as creative input for your piece. We will not publish or share them without your written consent.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a piece is limited to the amount you paid for that piece. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Montreal.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
