Meet the Artist
Carla Beaino
I grew up surrounded by the vibrant traditions of Lebanon — the colors, the patterns, the stories passed down through generations. My grandmother kept a collection of painted glass jugs in her kitchen, each one a relic of a time when artistry and function were inseparable.
After years working as a graphic designer in Beirut, I felt a pull back to something more tangible, more rooted. I began experimenting with vitrail — the ancient art of glass painting — and discovered a medium that let me blend my heritage with my creative vision.
Every piece I create is a bridge between worlds: the Lebanon I carry in my heart and the homes where these jugs will live. It's not just about decoration. It's about preserving something precious, something that might otherwise be forgotten.

A Living Tradition
The Lebanese Jug
In the Levant, glass jugs were never just vessels — they were heirlooms. Families would commission artisans to paint them with symbols of their lineage, their faith, their land. A cedar tree. A family crest. A verse of poetry.
These jugs held water, wine, rose water for celebrations. They sat on shelves as markers of beauty and pride. Over time, the tradition faded as mass production took over. But the soul of it — the desire to own something unique, something made by hand — never disappeared.
I'm not trying to recreate the past. I'm honoring it, reimagining it for today. Every jug I paint carries that legacy forward.
